Analysing My Results

From my results, I found out that more females answered it than males; this already tells me that the magazine will be aimed at females. Both males and females were aged between 16 and 21. There were a wide range of the types of music, for example:
  • Classical
  • Pop
  • Indie
  • Jazz
  • Instrumental
  • Alternative rock
  • Rap.
For favorite artists, there was another wide variety. Although most of them are placed in the same category, with hip-hop as a majority, none of the artists were repeated. My responses were from Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, to Chris Brown, Tyga and Black-Eyed Peas, to Muse, Maroon 5, The Gorillaz, Florence and the Machine, Slipknot and The All-American Rejects. Thereafter, the majority voted for my magazine to be made up of both images and text. 60% voted that they would pay £1-£2 for the magazine, along with all the colours I mentioned. "Lots of black, I like the darkness." Someone even stated that they liked dark colours, and so they wanted a lot of black on theirs.

To create my magazine, I will start off by making a draft of my front cover. I now know what it's about, and who my target audience are which makes it easier to plan the whole magazine. The front cover will contain a rough layout of the people who I will use and mainly base the magazine on. After, I will make my contents page to help me plan the pages of information. I will then start taking pictures of my stars and begin planning where I will place them in my magazine. This is mainly for my double-page spread. I will research into other magazines, and my previous research, for ideas such as interview questions, layout etc.

My magazine will have all sorts of music within it. It'll be aimed at one particular genre mainly - hip-hop, yet it'll still contain other types such as rock or rap. This way it can represent the different social groups with a community. My magazine is aimed at teenage music lovers, aged between 16-21. I will attract them, by using different colours to catch their attention first, then short, sharp words which will automatically let them know what the information is about. Finally, I would definitely be talking about people who everyone is familiar with, and introduce the new artists/ bands who are rising.
